In order to optimally operate and maintain a power plant one has to understand thorougly the actual condition of the plant and of each of its components. The precision of the operating data available from the plant’s instrumentation and control system is not sufficient for this purpose. In order to provide the basis for analysis and optimization, accurate and reliable data is indispensible; such data can be accuired by additional measurements and tests.

The Testing Services unit of STEAG Energy Services draws on years of experience and can avail itself of a wide variety of technical tools which are put to use for the benefit of our clients’ projects around the world. Testing Services is a testing laboratory and an inspection agency for measurements in power plants and  industrial facilities, covering i.a. the fields of combustion control, thermodynamics, emissions and thermography.

Proper assessment of the measured data is crucial to success.
How do we ensure that the right data is acquired and evaluated properly?

First, we work with our client to pinpoint the problem to be addressed and prepare the measurement project accordingly. In this context, we jointly determine the necessary measuring points, choose the sensors and instrumentation equipment, and define time and duration of the test runs.
After the test runs, the data acquired is processed, analyzed and evaluated. On this basis, we develop a catalogue of options for optimizing the plant and/or its operation mode.
