    STEAG Power Plant Learning Centre India

    The Indian Learning Center recognized by the Government of India (Central Electricity Authority) for providing mandatory one year trainings in Operation & Maintenance of thermal power plants under the INDIAN ELECTRICTY RULES, is equipped with state of the art training facilities, like simulators, model rooms, classrooms with audiovisual aids, labs with calibrated testing equipments and testing facilities, library etc. The centre arranges practical trainings in coal fired /gas based / cogeneration power plants and conducts various programs to train recruited and existing manpower using latest techniques and various technologies.

    The offered program consists of:

    • One year (52 weeks) graduate engineers induction program (26 weeks of class room and practical training followed by 26 weeks of on the job training covering all aspects of Operation & Maintenance of thermal power plant)
    • Short term specialization programs
    • Heat rate awareness
    • Advanced heat rate monitoring and diagnostics
    • Fundamentals of power plant operation
    • Specifics of combined cycle plant operation
    • Simulator based pulverized coal fired plant operation
    • Fundamentals of combustion and boiler optimization
    • Plant systems and operating principles for non–operators
    • Contracts and commercial management of power Projects, like power purchase agreements (PPA) and fuel supply agreements (FSA)
    • Regulatory structure and issues, integrated electricity grid code, generation tariff, transmission tariff, open  access in transmission and distribution
    • Power trading and power exchanges covering power business in India, grant of trading licenses to power traders / power exchanges by CERC/SERCs, open access in transmission, execution of power trading agreements, etc.

    Other training and manpower development related services include: 

    • Training needs assessment
    • Assessment of effectiveness of training & development initiatives and interventions
    • Design and administering of customer specific HR initiatives including performance assessment & appraisal, organization development
